Lismore’s Jacks Bar changes hands

A LISMORE bar that has come under police scrutiny this year has changed hands.

Jacks Bar at the Met has been sold to 3rd Eye Productions and will reopen on April 8 as The Hub.

Former owner, Darren (Jack) Barry will retain ownership of the accommodation side of the business.

On its Facebook page 3rd Eye Productions say The Hub is one of its most exciting developments yet.

"The Hub, located in central Lismore, uniquely blends the lifestyle culture that 3rd Eye Productions is so well known for with contemporary cuisine, set within a relaxed and funky lounge atmosphere," they posted.

"The hub brings an array of world class art and entertainment indoors to sustain you across all seasons.

"Drop in for a coffee, a feed, a fresh brew and some swinging tunes."

Two weeks ago Jacks Bar was raided by police who had applied for search warrants targeting drug supply from the venue.

Mr Barry maintains Jacks Bar was not used as a distribution point for illegal drugs.

When police successfully applied for a 30-hour closure of the bar, two parties arranged by promoters at Jacks Bar had to be cancelled.

Small amounts of cannabis were found by police in the raids.
