Collis new Premier Division coach

LISMORE Workers Football Club have appointed club stalwart Scott Collis as its Premier Division coach for 2010.

It was expected that former coach Paul Ianna, who led the Redmen to a semi-final berth last season and was named Football Far North Coast’s coach of the year in men’s premier division in 2009, would be appointed again, but he has relocated to Brisbane and Collis, who has been involved with the club for many years, has agreed to take charge.

As a player, Collis was an outstanding goal-keeper and won multiple premierships with Coffs Harbour and Workers and played representative soccer against international and national teams.

This will be Collis’s first senior coaching appointment. He was assistant coach to Ianna in 2009.

The club had its first training run last week. Enquiries to join can be made to 0410-512046.
