Lismore winner to tackle Wentworth

OUTA CREDIT proved he will be a force to contend with when he contests the semi-finals of the Group 1 Vic Peters Classic at Wentworth Park in Sydney later this month.

The brilliant Queenslander made it five wins from five starts at the Colemans Point track in Lismore when he took out the Marques Auto Lismore Classic (520m) on Tuesday night to book his spot in the semi-finals.

Club Sportz was easily the best to begin and opened up a handy break.

There was carnage on the first turn and all the runners were inconvenienced, including Outa Credit.

The Reg Kay-trained flyer quickly regathered momentum and set out after Club Sportz, and had that greyhound’s measure as heads were turned for home.

Outa Credit, the prohibitive 5/1-on favourite, had 3-1/2 lengths to spare at the finish over a gallant Club Sportz, with Angel Bay another 9-3/4 lengths away third.

In the circumstances the winning time of 30.07s was an outstanding effort.

A bumper crowd attended the meeting, which was a fund-raiser for Wyrallah Road Public School organised by its P and C.
