Lismore to have debate on health

FORGET cage fighting at Lismore Workers Club, tonight’s bloodfest is all about health.

On the opening bell at 7pm in the club’s Room 7, Page MPJanelle Saffin will square off against the man who wants her job, the Nationals’ Kevin Hogan.

The public is invited to attend.

While the debate will mirror the one in Canberra between Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and Opposition Leader Tony Abbott, tonight’s event is likely to focus on local issues and how health services should be delivered here.

“This is the top issue for local people and I encourage them to come along and hear what we each have to say on the issue, and ask questions,” contender Mr Hogan said yesterday.

The debate will be moderated by The Northern Star acting editor Dave Kirkpatrick and Grafton Daily Examiner editor David Bancroft.
