LISMORE councillors are tonight gathering for a workshop on the council's long term financial plan.

One aspects of the workshop will cover the proposal to apply a $6 per year Special Business Rate Variation Levy to residents.

The councillors will also have to look at ways to cut costs across the council, using the Imagine Lismore consultation process as a guide.

The Northern Star's Hamish Broome will be at the workshop and will be posting updates on the discussion via Twitter. You can follow the discussion here, live.
