Lismore rally to back UN stand urging climate change action

TO COINCIDE with the global UN climate summit in New York, people all over the world will attend rallies in support of climate change action.

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is urging governments to support a global agreement to reduce global warming pollution.

Tomorrow will be a global day of action to support the UN Secretary-General.

Lismore will be the regional centre for the event, hosting a fun, non-partisan day of peaceful protest and climate action for all ages.

The event will be held at Spinks Park, behind the transit centre in Molesworth St, from noon, with the march starting at 12.30pm.

People are invited to come along in rainbow colours, and bring a musical instrument if they have one, or whistles, streamers, placards, balloons, picnic baskets, bicycles and the kids and dogs.

There will be speakers, stalls, children's games, live music, workshops and lots more fun activities.
