Lismore race meet goes ahead

LISMORE Turf Club's meet will go ahead today despite the heavy rain that hit the region last night.

Course officials say the Woodlawn Track is still in "beautiful" condition and ready for racing.

All eyes will be on Jigsaws in the day's feature race, the 1516m Benchmark 60 Handicap.

The horse, trained by Grafton's Debbie Trembath, has won its last three outings.

A number of Far North Coast trainers also have hopefuls in action.

Seven races are on the card and action gets under way at 1.42pm.
