Lismore prepares to serve up an action-packed tournament

TENNIS aces such as Brendan Lee are gearing up to start the new year in style at what should be an action-packed tournament in Lismore.

Lee is among more than 40 players taking part in the AMT men's singles competition at the Lismore Open Tennis Championships.

Players from across the eastern states are gearing up for the Lismore Tennis Club event, which gets under way tomorrow.

Juniors and seniors will be in action at the tournament, which will feature singles and doubles matches.

Goonellabah-based Lee said he was hoping to lead a strong showing from the region's participants.

"You always want to do well at your 'home' tournament," he said. "It should be good."
