Lismore police officer charged

A SENIOR constable attached to a specialist command has been charged with assault following an alleged domestic incident last month in Lismore.

The male officer and his wife are believed to have been involved in a dispute on April 13 when he is alleged to have assaulted her.

She reported it to police who investigated.

The 43-year-old has been issued with a future court attendance notice in relation to the assault, and is due to appear in Lismore Local Court on July 30.
