Lismore lass leads

A LISMORE woman has won an employee award for commitment, enthusiasm and leadership qualities.

Department of Human Services customer service advisor Meagan Roberts took the award over all department staff from the Gold Coast to Port Macquarie.

Ms Roberts said the support of her colleagues had contributed to her success.

"I am lucky to work with a great bunch of people who have supported me to take on new challenges and grow professionally," she said.

"This award is an achievement not only for me but also for the Lismore Service Centre."

The award recognises an individual or a team for their outstanding achievement and contribution to the workplace.

When she received her award on July 12 at a service zone awards night at Ballina RSL, Ms Roberts said she loved her job.

"I am a Lismore girl, born and bred and am lucky to work in a job where I can provide assistance to my community."

Pacific Coast zone leader Brian Small said Meagan's progression from an Indigenous apprentice three years ago into an exceptional customer service advisor had been outstanding.

"Meagan is popular among staff and customers," he said. "She has an enthusiastic attitude, is always compassionate and caring and embraces challenges with enthusiasm."
