Lismore golfer leads in the Australian Open
LISMORE golfer Rhein Gibson is currently in the lead of round two of the Emirates Australian Open at Royal Sydney today.
After 13 holes, Gibson has just one bogey on his card which features five birdies. Pampling, also four under for the day, is blemish free with three holes to play.
Gibson shares the lead with fellow Australian Curtis Lack while Rod Pampling and Adam Scott are sitting second and third respectively.
Overnight leaders Luck and Lucas Herbert, both 20, were been joined by Pampling, Gibson and David Klein at five under par.
Venezuelan Jhonattan Vegas crafted eight birdies between holes 12 and five (teeing off the 10th) however a double on the fourth hole has left him a shot shy of joining our leaders.
Meanwhile Adam Scott, the 2009 champion is stringing together a better round today, sitting four under par with three holes to play.
