Chapman Fun Run set to go

TIME to put on the running shoes and get training as the countdown to this year’s Darrel Chapman Fun Run starts.

Sunday, May 16, will see runners of all ages and ability warming up at the starting line at Southern Cross University in Lismore to help raise funds for local charity Our Kids.

Sponsorship team member Melanie Walker said there were plenty of categories for people to run in.

“We have an open category for people between 16 and 49 years,” she said.

“We also have a junior category for under-16s, a senior category for over-50s and a differently-abled category for all.”

With two distances to run, three kilometres and six kilometres, serious and fun runners alike can enter and have a fun day.

“People can dress up in costumes, get their faces painted and even start the race with NBN’s Big Dog,” Ms Walker said.

“It will be a fun day and all the funds raised go to hospital equipment for the children’s ward at Lismore Base.”
