Lismore councillor considers standing in 2015 NSW election

LISMORE councillor Isaac Smith says he is considering putting his hand up to be the Country Labor candidate for Lismore at the state election in March 2015.

The councillor asked for feedback on Facebook and, after making the announcement, has already had more than 100 comments.

Mr Smith previously ran for preselection for the Federal seat of Page ahead of the 2007 election, losing out to Janelle Saffin.

He stood for election to Lismore City Council at the next local government election and has served on the council ever since, including a stint in the role as deputy mayor.
