Lismore cafes open for New Year’s Day
LISMORE business are taking advantage of the influx of tourists in town for the Tropical Fruits New Year's Festival, and opening on a day they'd rather be sleeping through - New Year's Day.
In 2009 and 2010, those visiting the area Tropical Fruits had been disappointed to find that almost no cafes or restaurants were open, leaving them with nowhere to dine at night, nor anywhere to enjoy a nice breakfast or brunch to clear the hangover on New Year's Day.
For the last two years however, more businesses have opened ready to cater for the influx of tourists over the holiday.
Tomorrow both the Dragonfly Café and the Mecca Café will be serving up breakfast to the NYE revellers.
Owner of the Dragonfly Café Lismore, Lisa Yacopetti, said that they will be open for business on New Year's Day, with a smile on their faces.
"We've done it every year that we've been here, and we'll continue to do that because it's good for us," she said.
