Lions veterans receive awards

TWO stalwarts from two local Lions clubs were recently acknowledged for the hard work they do.

President of the Mid Richmond Lions Club Joan Smedley and Coraki Lions Club member Norma Thomas OAM both received the District Governors' Excellence Award.

Lions District Governor Mervyn Ferguson was on hand on both occasions to present the awards to the two ladies.

Ms Thomas also received a 20-year Monarch Award.

Coraki Lions member Kevin "Tubby'' Daley also received a 15-year attendance award.

Both clubs are always on the lookout for new members and would be happy to hear from interested people.

The Mid Richmond Lions Club meets on the first Thursday of the month at Woodburn-Evans Head RSL Club at 7pm.
