Kyogle Lions throw their support behind Men's Shed

DURING the past month, Kyogle Lions Club has made a donation of $500 to the Men's Shed, enabling them to invest in a much needed 1800 watt BOSCH saw and stand.

The saw will be put to good use in the making of wheelbarrow pot-stands from recycled material and in completing a toilet for the disabled.

Three Lions represented the Club at Woodenbong Central School to present 16-year old Archer Remy Leonard with a donation to assist him to head to Turkey for the World Indoor Championship Archery in March next year.

Congratulations to Remy on his record-breaking 3D Shooter of the Year for three years running.

Lions also catered for a BBQ for the Harley Owners' Club (Hog) Riders, on a fund-raising ride for the Westpac Rescue helicopter. Riders came from Coff's Harbour and Brisbane, meeting at Kyogle on their way to Ballina.

And, of course, you would remember the Scouts who assisted the Lions with their Saturday street raffles; well, Lions gave them a cheque for $15,000 to help attend a Jamboree in New Zealand.
