Lionel Bossy Driscoll: Soldier, football player, my Dad

LIONEL Driscoll was born in Casino on the Richmond River in 1898.

His Father John Driscoll was one of the first white settlers.

My Dad was a great Sportsman.

He was a sprinter, a boxer and a great Rugby League Football Player.

After returning from the Great War in 1918 he joined the Casino Team and in 1922 he was transferred to the Alstonville Club for whom he scored many tries.

My Dad was a proud and brave man and I wish on this Anzac Day 2016 for him to be remembered for the courageous young man he was.

He died in 1953 in Brisbane where became a well know horse trainer.

I miss him.

Lest We Forget.
