Lighting the way in Hawaii

TONIGHT Craig Parry takes you into the depths of Hawaiian waters with his photography exhibition, Hawaiian Light.

The Lennox Head-based photographer spent two weeks in Hawaii in January this year, and has now put together some of his best works from the trip and formed a show.

His works capture the energy of the ocean with a lot of seascape shots, as well as abstract underwater pictures and a lot of nature shots, he said.

"(From the audience) I want to get some more appreciation for the ocean and just share, I like sharing the world to people and I do that through my camera," Mr Parry said.

A professional photographer for eight years now, his passion for the art has only grown and enhanced his own lifestyle.

"It feeds my passion of travel (and) it also feeds my passion for the ocean," he said.

"Photography allows me to share what I see, through my eyes, to an audience."

Hawaii was certainly a happy time for him, and as an avid surfer, he not only had the chance to spend a lot of time in the water armed with a camera, but also gave him the opportunity to tackle the biggest surf he'd ever been in with his board.

He's already booked another trip for next February - for a whole month this time.

Craig Parry's Hawaiian Light opens tonight 6pm at Craig Parry Photography, Ballina Street Lennox Head.
