Billi's set to boil with third No Standing dance party

GET your dance boots on this weekend at the third No Standing dance party.

On the music side, favourite DJs Stephen Allkins and Mista Flynn are back to burn the floor up at the Billinudgel Hotel.

Joining them is special guest Lorna, fresh from her European tour after a successful gig at Splendour in the Grass 2014.

Punters will enjoy 'the grand ole' Billi' transformed by the visual artwork of Marion Conrow's projections and the playful pop art by 'Peeps' Soddu and Richie Rich Morrod's light installations.

The original and creative setup, decor, art and projections have become the signature of each dance party, plus music that invites everyone to dance.

DJ Stephen Allkins moved to the Byron Shire a year ago.

In that same month, he played at the first No Standing party, which attracted over 300 revellers.

More than 500 music lovers graced the dance floor at last June's No Standing party, and producers are prepared to offer an even bigger event this time.

"We just keep hearing that more people are coming, so we are having a much larger dance floor and the whole thing has been reconfigured," Allkins said.

"There will be more of what we already do and people love.

"There is not much more to change as the party is very successful already. You don't have to do something better when it's already great.

"It's not us saying it's a good party, it's the community saying that by coming back and bringing new friends each time," he said

For Allkins, one of the keys to the party is that the type of musical experience it offers fits the Northern Rivers community.

"This area is full of hot people who have great taste in music, and we offer a great range of music. At No Standing we have people dancing from 25 to 60 years old.

"It's about rhythm, melody, it can be vocal or instrumental. It's all over the shop.

"I wouldn't play anything I wouldn't dance to myself, and I am 54," he said.
