It has been a busy start to the year for Wightman, who competed in the Tweed Coast Pro at Cabarita last week.
He will surf in the next round of the Subway Series at Avoca next weekend with another four rounds remaining after that.
Meanwhile, local surfer Mia McCarthy won the 18 years and under girls division.
"I'm feeling on top of the world right now," McCarthy said.
"I was getting smashed at the start of the heat; I got that one good wave and that was it."
