Lennox Head surfer wins comp in France for second year

FORMER Lennox Head surfer Tyler Wright has won the Roxy Pro in France for the second consecutive year.

Wright dominated the final scoring a 17.10 (out of a possible 20) while Hawaiian Tatiana Weston-Webb finished with a 10.93.

It is the first World Championship Tour event win of the season for Wright and puts her fifth overall on  rankings.

"I was just feeling it, I was looking at the waves before and I knew it was going to be good," Wright said.

"It was kind of tricky, I was very selective.

"This whole season has been super interesting, and I just found out the difference between someone who cares and someone who doesn't, and I care.

"I couldn't have done any of this without Owen and Matt my shaper and the rest of my family, I'm pretty stoked."

Her older brother Owen Wright. was eliminated in the quarter finals of the Quiksilver Pro in France.
