Lennox Head Ironman champion stars on screen

SHARK encounters, dehydrating desert runs and lung-busting high altitude time trials will be par for the course when Lennox Head's Tanyn Lyndon hits the television screen this Saturday.

The 23-year-old Ironman is part of an elite team of Australians who will star in the second series of Deep Water USA.

The eight-part series sees six of Australia's elite IronMen - Ali Day, Ky Hurst, Kendrick Louis, Matt Poole, Matt Bevilacqua and Lyndon - competing in a gruelling set of mental and physical challenges.

Mr Lyndon is currently studying nursing at Griffith University with the aim of becoming a paramedic.

Deep Water USA will screen at 4.30pm on Channel Nine.
