LENNOX Head author Susan Perrow was recently in Spain to launch the Spanish translation of her book Healing Stories for Challenging Behaviour.

This marks the eighth translation, with two more in the pipeline – Turkish and Slovenian.

The first Spanish launch was in Madrid at the Ateneo Cultural Building, then the second was at Barcelona at La Central del Raval, a book store just off the famous La Rambla tree-lined pedestrian mall that runs for more than a kilometre from the main city square to the sea.

Both events were attended by teachers, parents, psychologists and some local writing glitterati.

On the following Saturday, the Festival of Saint Jordi was celebrated in Barcelona, and the city came alive with hundreds of book and flower stalls.

The streets and cafes thronged with crowds of people celebrating this 200-year-old tradition, where the lady receives a red rose and, in return, the man is presented with a book.

Susan’s publisher had a stall on La Rambla, with Susan busily signing the newly minted copies and chatting to the customers.

Susan later ran seminars and workshops on therapeutic story writing in Croatia, Slovenia and Sarajevo in Bosnia.
