‘Lengthy delays’ expected in Byron during weekend triathlon

THERE will be road closures through the Byron Bay town centre on Saturday, as more than 1200 people converge on the town centre for the triathlon.

Roads will be affected from noon until 3.45pm.

Closures include:

  • Broken Head Road: North and southbound to Ross Lane
  • Bangalow Road: North and southbound
  • Tennyson Street: North and southbound
  • Marvell Street: North and southbound
  • Middleton Street: North and southbound
  • Bay Street: Closed from Fletcher Street
  • Lawson Street: Closed from Massinger St to Middleton St roundabout.

Northbound traffic from Lennox Head detours up Ross Lane to Highway

All southbound traffic to approach from Bangalow Rd and call for escort.

Drivers are reminded ot expect lengthy delays.

In the Byron CBD, there is a crossing point at Ruskin St to allow east to west movement of traffic.
