Leading the pack for North Coast Road Racers Series

FAR North Coast riders James Britton, Damien Coppola and Justin Hall will look to maintain their leads in the North Coast Road Racers Series this weekend.

A two-day meeting will be held at the kart track at the Lismore showground.

Coppola leads Motolite division 1 and is also going well in stock class.

Britton is first in Motolite division 2 and second in M3 dirt bikes.

Hall is leading the M4 150cc class and is up there in the Motolite division 1.

"It's about the middle of the season and after this round you have a pretty good idea on where you're going to finish up," Britton said.

"We get a lot of people enter races on the day so you never know for sure what the field will be."

About 50 riders have already registered across nine divisions this weekend.

Competitors come from further north of Brisbane to as far as Central Coast in the south.

The North Coast club has introduced several new divisions in recent years, increasing their membership.

Britton is also the club president and has seen the growth in the club.

"We're pretty unique and not many clubs in Australia do what we do," he said.

"We started with only a couple of classes and we can race bigger bikes with the big engines here.

"And now we have a number of different divisions after starting with three."

There is a two-hour endurance race at Grafton in August before the next event at Lismore in October.

Free entry for spectators on both days.
