Teams share competition lead

JUST three days after winning their second-round Northern NSW Solo Cup games, Goonellabah and Byron Bay will be backing up for potentially dangerous away games in Football FNC premier league soccer tonight.

Both sides have won their first two premiership outings to share the competition lead and will not want any slip-ups, with Goonellabah meeting Lismore Workers and Byron taking on Italo Stars.

Goonellabah have Thiago Priori and Mario Tinning coming into their line-up to bring them to full strength and while they will be favoured to beat Workers, the Redmen have also won two from two and pose a real threat.

Byron Bay will be without captain Tom Ruhl, but with Sam Owens coming in they look too strong.

The rebuilding Stars line-up has plenty of pride and at home will make the Rams work hard for the points.

Both games are set down to start at 8pm.
