Last chance to have your say

TIME is running out for local residents to have their say on the NSW Government's Northern Rivers Regional Action Plan.

North Coast Nationals MPs, Don Page, Geoff Provest, Thomas George & Chris Gulaptis, said that since February, the community has been urged to tell the NSW Government what goals it has for the Northern Rivers over the next decade.

"There is still time for residents, businesses and stakeholder groups to have their say on the changes they see as essential for the region," Mr George said.

The online consultation will continue on the Government's website until next Friday, May 18 - where residents can also view the draft Regional Action Plan.

The Draft Plans follow 25 regional meetings held across the state and more than 3,500 contributions.

"The draft for the Northern Rivers incorporates feedback from the community meeting with MP's and cabinet ministers held at Ballina in March," Mr George said.

The state members said local Action Plans would be aligned with the state-wide report, NSW 2021, "the blueprint for change in NSW over the next decade".

"The NSW Liberals & Nationals are committed to giving people a real say in open, collaborative decision making for the long term development of our region," Mr George said.

"We encourage residents, business and stakeholder groups to have their say about the future of the local region before the consultation process ends".
