Large grass fire destroys land, causes evacuations

FARMLAND has been destroyed by a large fire that forced the evacuation of three properties in the NSW north west.

Firefighters were called to paddocks on a back road at Inverell late Tuesday after a large grass fire broke out.

Flames came within 30m of three homes but all were saved.

More than 100sqm of land was destroyed.

Investigators are not treating the blaze as suspicious.
