Nick Kyrgios ditches coach ahead of Wimbledon

NICK Kyrgios' fractured build-up to Wimbledon has continued with the Australian parting with coach Todd Larkham less than a week before the tournament begins.

The 20-year-old (pictured) has endured a frustrating preparation, withdrawing through illness from the lead-up event in Nottingham after last week losing in the first round at Queens to French Open champion Stan Wawrinka.

Larkham worked with Kyrgios for seven years and helped him to rise to No.29 in the world.

Kyrgios said it was never an easy decision to end a coaching relationship but felt this was the right decision for him at this time.

"I've worked with Todd on and off for many years and he has helped me immensely," Kyrgios wrote on his website. "While our working relationship has ended, Todd and I will remain friends as he has been a very important person in my life."
