Kyogle contests Tidy Towns finals

ANNE REARDON is one very happy person.

The chairwoman of the Kyogle Towns Committee hasn't stopped smiling since learning last week that Kyogle had been named as a finalist in the NSW Tidy Towns Sustainable Communities Award.

“It's wonderful, really wonderful,” Mrs Reardon said.

“Kyogle is the only town on the North Coast to be named as a finalist.”

Kyogle Tidy Towns has nominated for awards in four categories: Overall Tidy Town Sustainable Community; Kyogle High School for Schools Environment Award; Kyogle Farmers Market for Cultural Heritage Award; and Kyogle Botanical Gardens for Wildlife Corridors and Habitats Conservation Award.

The Kyogle committee does not know in which award category or categories it qualified as a finalist.

“Whatever happens from here on, Kyogle and the Kyogle community are winners,” Mrs Reardon said.

The winners will be announced at Tamworth Town Hall on Saturday, October 31.
