Kyogle to finalise priorities

AN EXTRAORDINARY meeting of Kyogle Council will be held today to decide which projects should be submitted for the third round of funding under the Federal Government's Regional and Local Community Infrastructure Program.

The council's funding allocation is $157,000.

Twenty-five projects have been identified by the council or submitted by the community as eligible for funding.

Bonalbo is asking for a new synthetic surface for two tennis courts at a cost of $40,000 and resurfacing of a third court at a cost of $20,000.

Wiangaree is asking for a new playground with soft-fall at a cost of $27,500. The community would also like a $30,000 barbecue and new shelter.

Woodenbong is asking for an $8500 fence for the showground and $9000 to build a 20-seat grandstand.

Tabulam would like $6000 for a lighting upgrade at its tennis courts.

The council must submit its funding application to the Federal Government by this Friday.

The funding is for projects not included in the council's 2010/11 budget, and all projects must able to be com-pleted by December 31 next year.
