Kyogle primary school in lockdown

KYOGLE Public School went into lockdown this morning following reports an armed student was in the area of the school.

The lockdown lasted for ten minutes and no-one was injured, police said.

An education department spokesman said a student had became aggressive to a staff member at Kyogle High School and ran off towards Kyogle Primary School.

"Reports that he may have had a knife yesterday prompted the primary school to keep students in for ten minutes this morning until it was confirmed that the student had gone home," he said.
