KYOGLE Council's general manager, Arthur Piggott, has tendered his resignation to "pursue other employment opportunities".

Mayor Danielle Mulholland made the announcement on her Facebook page, saying the council would hold an extraordinary meeting on Monday.

"He (Mr Piggott) will be leaving in the next week or so, before taking a couple weeks leave," she posted.

"We wish him all the best in his new job."

Cr Mulholland said it was unclear at this stage who would take over from Mr Piggott.
