Kirra and David are Byron High's top students

CONSISTENCY was the key to Kirra Liu's outstanding achievement in this year's Higher School Certificate.

The Byron Bay High School student was yesterday named Dux of the School after she scored Band Six in all her subjects.

Fellow student David Hertzberg also scored Band Six in all of his subjects.

Seventeen-year-old Kirra said she expected to do well, but not that well.

“My results were way better than I expected, so I am very excited,” she said.

She hopes to study pharmacy or nutrition at the University of Queensland, but not before she takes next year off to travel.

David said he was thrilled with his results, especially as he didn't study that much.

“I did enough to get by,” he said.

David hopes to study for a double degree in the Arts and Science at Sydney University.
