Kimberley Kampers named Business of the Year

WINNERS were certainly grinners on Saturday night at the glittering Ballina Shire Northern Star Business Excellence Awards in Ballina RSL Club.

More than 400 local business people were in attendance and ready to celebrate a year of hard work, success and recognition.

The industrial manager of Kimberley Kampers, Cameron Johnston, and his co-worker Ben Haley, supervisor of product systems and quality control, were wearing the biggest smiles at the end of the night when they were called to the poduim to receive the major award for Business of the Year.

Unfortunately Kimberley Kampers owner Bruce Loxton was in Sydney and unable to attend.

When The Northern Star contacted him yesterday he was very excited by his company's big win, and said while it may not help sales, as they don't sell a lot locally, it would help attract the right employees.

“This year we have been concentrating on employees and employee training,” Mr Loxton said.

“We are really focused on having a long-term, stable workforce that are excited about the business and about having a career path.”
