Kicking Screamers!

St. Brigid’s Primary School in Kyogle have had a very busy start to their last quarter and it doesn’t look like we will be slowing down till the final siren!
The Kindy Kids have been kicking goals down in the Kindy classroom. They have hosted a ‘Wedding’ for the letters Q and U because we all know they go together and stay together all the time! They have also been getting their hands dirty and doing a great job with their ‘Works of Mercy’ – to mark the Year of Mercy - they have been shining the shoes of students and staff and members of the community whose footwear needed a polish.
We have been working hard in the pool too with Kindy, Year 1 and Year 2 attending Kyogle Pool for Intensive Swimming lessons and thanks to Sporting Schools the older students have been punting and marking and learning all about the game of AFL.
The school has hosted visitors with a new display from the ‘Mercy on the Move’ exhibit, to mark the Year of Mercy. It featured some brilliant works of art that the students really enjoyed viewing. We also had parents and parishioners join us at school for Prayer Celebrations in Stage 1 and Stage 3. We love visitors but especially our Kindy 2017 students who have been for three transition days already and remember if you wish to join the winning team of Kindy 2017 then please get in touch!
Hollywood came to Kyogle on Wednesday night when the red carpet was rolled out for the Primary Social. With the theme ‘Hollywood’, some big name ‘stars’ made a guest appearance with a lot of bad dancing thrown in!
Last Sunday we celebrated with our first Parish Family Mass for the term, on Saturday we tried not to burn sausages at our Sausage Sizzle fund raising bbq and we cleaned up the school with a ‘Garden (Clean Up) Party’ as well and this weekend is Twilight Dinner and Movie Under the Stars Night and everyone is welcome to come along to that!
There is no bench warmers in the coming weeks as we gear up for a Camp for Year 4 and 5, our lunch time ‘T20 Cricket Comp’ and so much more!
