Kia reveals another excitement machine with Proceed concept

AHEAD of 2017's most anticipated Australian car launch, the Kia Stinger, the South Korean carmaker has delivered again.

The Proceed Concept was revealed at the Frankfurt International Motor Show, which offers a window of what's to come from Kia.

If recent history is any indication, expect this stunning five-door hatch to reach production. Back in 2011, a rear-drive four-door fastback sedan concept called the GT was revealed... and next week we'll see the Stinger in the metal on our roads featuring similar design cues close to the original.

Withdrawn from sale due to limited interest with only a manual gearbox available, the strangely named Kia "pro_cee'd” received little love Down Under despite being a brilliant drive. There was no mention of engines at this week's concept reveal, but expect this hot hatch to ultimately feature a turbocharged donk with a self-shifter.

Low, lean and lithe, the five-door Proceed concept marries imposing proportions with a compact footprint. The highlight line that frames the glasshouse extends to the rear tailgate, is designed to enhance the car's dynamic proportions. Together with the glass roof, the acutely angled 'Sharkblade', complete with GT logo, reinforces its lack of B-pillars.

Further tactile and visual highlights include atmospherically backlit headlamps in red, stacked rear air vents, and large six-spoke, 20-inch alloy wheels with central locking nut.

The four individual, interlinked seats feature a contoured welcoming wave.
