HE may have drawn the wrong box but trainer Steve Keep still reckons Red Hot Carney could get the jump on his rivals in the first race at the Lismore greyhounds tonight, the Lismore GBOTA Maiden Stake (420m).

Keep, the grounds-man at the Colemans Point track, said his greyhound would have been better off in the outside box rather than the inside that he has drawn.

"But if he jumps anything like last week he could still be the one to beat," Keep said.

Last Tuesday night Scoops Dilema ($4.40) won the GBOTA Maiden Stake (420m) by half a length from Red Hot Carney ($5.10).

In what was a three-dog race from the outset, Scoops Dilema took the lead from the first corner with Fearless Juddi ($1.80 favourite) in toe.

But Red Hot Carney never gave an inch to finish second, three-quarters of a length ahead of Fearless Juddi.
