Karl reckons he has the Northern Rivers’ best job

THE whole of the Northern Rivers is Karl Roberston's playground.

Karl works for Far North Coast Weeds, which puts him on the front line protecting the Northern Rivers' environment from lantana-style weed outbreaks.

That sounds pretty worthy. However, what you might not realise from that description is that Karl's job is like one big adventure holiday.

"I often find my self working in locations that people travel from far and wide to see. By boat, kayak, 4x4, horse, helicopter, personal ATV and foot," Karl says in his entry to The Northern Star's Best Job in Town competition.

"My job has everything, I help the community, keep active, see some of our regions most pristine environments, meet amazing people, help them, learn new skills and get paid for it!!!!"

Do you think your job is better than Karl's?

We're trying to find our region's best job, with the winner getting a $1000 Flight Centre voucher and some pretty solid boasting rights.

To enter, simply tell us why your job is so great, and also send us a photo. Visit www.northernstar.com.au/bestjob to enter and to see who else has lodged an entry in the competition.

Entries close September 19. The winner will be announced on September 21.
