Jye in national top 10

A LISMORE swimmer clocked a two-minute personal best time to finish in the top 10 of the Australian open water championships in Victoria.

Trinity Lismore Swimming Club member Jye Rogers, 14, qualified in the 13- to 15-years age catagory for the 5km open water event, where he was ranked 38th out of 95 swimmers.

Jye swam a brilliant race to finish 10th overall.

It makes Jye the 10th fastest 5km open water swimmer for his age in Australia.

Swimmers who qualified were able to swim in either the 10km or 5km events, depending on age.
