Justin Timberlake ‘finalising’ Super Bowl deal

The 36-year-old has been asked to perform at next year's halftime show in Minneapolis and is "finalising" the deal, Us Weekly reports.

An insider said Timberlake might perform with one-time collaborator Jay-Z, but "as of right now, it will just be Justin - no surprise performers."

His February 4 appearance will come nearly 14 years after his controversial Super Bowl halftime "nipplegate" show with Janet Jackson.

During the duet rendition of Rock Your Body, Timberlake pulled part of Jackson's costume off, briefly revealing her nipple.

The move forced the US Federal Communications Commission to implement a five-second broadcast delay for all future Super Bowls.

The Cry Me A River singer, currently working on his fifth solo album, made a surprise appearance at the 2017 Super Bowl.

He appeared in a Bai Antioxidant Infusions water ad alongside legendary actor Christopher Walken, performing a dramatic reading of the 'NSync hit Bye Bye Bye.

Lady Gaga kicked off her epic Super Bowl performance last year on the roof of the stadium.

The previous year, Beyonce stole the halftime show from headliners Coldplay, delivering a blistering rendition of her single Formation. Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson also performed.
