Deliberating jury asks to hear witness evidence again

THE jury in the Wayne Dover manslaughter trial is back in court after asking to hear evidence of a witness again.

They were played a recording of Joanne Main's testimony and cross examination after sending a note to the justice about 3pm.

Ms Main testified she was having a cigarette, while waiting for a friend, when she saw a dreadlocked man push Mr Dover.

She said she tried to intervene but was pulled away.

Ms Main testified she told them it wasn't worth it, and people die over this stuff, "definitely something like that".

Jury begins deliberations

NOON: A JURY has now begun deliberating verdicts in the death of Sunshine Coast man Wayne Dover.

Justice Martin Burns completed summing up the case against Wade Leigh Goldsworthy, 30, and Matthew John Hill, 30 this morning and sent the jury out about noon.

The men are charged with manslaughter over Mr Dover's alleged bashing death on November 30, 2013, outside the Factory nightclub in Maroochydore.

Justice Burns cleared Wade's brother, Blake Nathan Goldsworthy, 27, of the same charge on Monday afternoon, declaring he had "no case to answer".

Barrister Simon Lewis, who is defending Wade Goldsworthy, told the jury on Tuesday his client was the victim of an "unprovoked assault" from Mr Dover on the night the businessman died.

Mr Hill's barrister Kila Pedder told the jury that there was little evidence proving his client killed Mr Dover.

Mr Dover was 45 years old when he died. - ARM NEWSDESK
