Judo competitors bring medals home

FOUR Lismore PCYC judo competitors brought home medals from the 2010 Australian championships.

Cameron Blewett, Daniel Parry, Bianca Phillips and newcomers Jaydha and Levi Wilmoth were part of the NSW team in Brisbane.

Daniel and Bianca were trying to defend their titles, but finished second and third respectively.

Daniel had previously won the 2009 Queensland State, Victorian Open and Australian Open titles and the 2010 NSW State and Queensland Open titles.

He said the disappointment would give him the drive he needed to better the winner, Jack Iredale, next year.

“The titles will be held in Western Australia, his home State, and I’m looking forward to beating him there,” Daniel said.

In only their second year in the sport and their first tilt at the national titles, Jaydha finished second and her brother Levi third.
