Gearing up for Rusty Gromfest
RUSTY Gromfest is set to light up Lennox Head next weekend.
But that ain't all.
In its 15th year, the world's most prestigious under-16 surfing event is set to host aerial superstar Josh Kerr and his ‘Kerrazy Airshow Invitational'.
Regarded worldwide as a pioneer among aerial surfers, Kerr will hand pick a field of like-minded high-flyers to put another flavour on the weekend.
The specialised session will see a host of stars given free rein to boost off lips and bust the airs which are quickly revolutionising the sport.
Prizes worth $3000 from surf fashion manufacturer Nixon will be up for grabs in the air session.
Regarded as the most progressive surfer in the world, Kerr will be at Rusty Gromfest to oversee this thrilling addition, which is certain to excite enthusiastic young surfers and fans alike.
But as exciting as the Airshow is, it will take backseat to the main event.
Most of Australia's best young surfers will contest Gromfest, which has an honour roll that includes names like Mick Fanning, Stephanie Gilmore, Bede Durbidge, Chelsea Hedges and Owen Wright.
