Jobs go as store closes

KYOGLE'S Crazy Clark's store has now closed, leading to eight staff losing their jobs and shopping at the top end of town becoming limited.

Crazy Clark's parent company, Discount Super Group, which also owns Sam's Warehouse, went into receivership on July 1.

"I often shop in Kyogle, looking at the bargains," John Flood from Stratheden said. "I think it's a shame as so many businesses are closing down."

Kyogle's Chamber of Commerce president Doug Allan said they were looking for a replacement business.

"The chamber itself is approaching interested parties to go into the Crazy Clark's building," Mr Allan said.

"We are always on the search for business so, if anyone wants to fill that space, they are welcome to let us know."

Businesses nearby said they would also feel the sting of the Crazy Clark's closure.

"It's going to affect us this end of the street," The Espresso Edge cafe employee Carolyn Bianchetti said.

"Thankfully we still have the pharmacy and banks up this end."
