Jan fights for better conditions for regional women
IT'S NOT just about tea and scones for Lismore CWA president Jan Clifford, of Goonellabah.
The OAM recipient has been fighting hard for better conditions for regional women for decades through the Country Women's Association. And she is not afraid to get political.
In recent years Mrs Clifford has worked on the CWA's South Pacific Campaign, which has been responsible for supplying concrete water tanks in Vanuatu, fishing boats in Indonesia, helping widowed women with livestock as well as running health and hygiene education programs.
Last year Mrs Clifford backed CWA NSW's partnership Rape & Domestic Violence Services Australia to raise money for the national 1800RESPECT number.
