Is that all, asks man after sentence for breaching bail

A MAN who breached bail at Caloundra within hours of being released will spend the next month in jail.

The man was granted bail on Monday on a number of conditions, including that he not go within 100 metres of an address at Kings Beach.

He fronted court on Wednesday for breaching bail and was released again.

Senior Constable Melissa Campbell told the Maroochydore Magistrates Court that police acting on information found the man hiding in a cupboard at the address on the same day.

The man asked to be admitted to the mental health ward of Nambour Hospital when he appeared in court yesterday.

"I wouldn't mind being committed for three or four months to get my life sorted," he said.

But Magistrate Bernadette Callaghan had another idea.

"You've got an extensive history of failing to comply with court orders and I've no faith that you would comply with your order this time," she said.

"I'm going to sentence you to prison for three months," she said.

Ms Callaghan set a parole release date of April 13, which satisfied the man.

"Is that all?" he asked.
