It's live and sweaty

NORTH Coast gymnasts are preparing to bring the curtain down on a successful year in "fantastic" style.

The club is hosting its annual Gymnastics Spectacular on Sunday, December 9.

Elegant routines, eye-catching outfits and graceful moves are all promised at the event, which is a traditional end-of-year celebration for the club's members.

Club assistant director Reen Light said it should be a hugely entertaining night for spectators.

"How often do you get to watch live gymnastics like this?" she said.

"It should be an absolutely fantastic event."

The non-competitive event will see scores of members perform various choreographed routines.

Some will also don costumes to perform on the night, which will incorporate some of the traditional apparatus like the floor and beam.

Light said the event would showcase not only the skills of the gymnasts but also the club's sense of camaraderie.

"It is really about fun and friendship," she said. "The night should also be a good chance for the gymnasts to show some of the skills they have been learning."

Light said the night should be a suitably successful end to a great year for the centre.

"It has been a fantastic year," she said. "We are hoping to expand and are looking for a bigger building. We have increased our membership and things are going really well here."
