Its gonna be hot!

BRACE yourselves for a stinker tomorrow, with temperatures on the Northern Rivers tipped to get as high as 39 degrees Celsius as the mercury soars across the Northern Rivers.

While the Weather Channel is this afternoon predicting Sydney temperatures will plummet down to the low 20s, the Bureau of Meteorology says it's just going to get hotter on the North Coast.

Byron Bay is looking like the place to be on the Northern Rivers tomorrow, with a predicted high of only 23 degrees. At the other end of the scale, people in Casino will be baking in 39 degree heat with a humidity as low as 5%. Lismore residents won't be much better off, with a top temperature of 38C.

While there is no total fire ban in place for the region, the Rural Fire Service is warning the North Coast continues to have a high to very high fire danger and there remain about 10 fires burning on the Far North Coast between Casino and Grafton.

On Saturday, by comparison, we'll all feel as though we've been locked in the fridge. Casino residents will be enjoying a comparatively cool 29 degrees Celsius, with Lismore close behind again, with a peak of 28C. At the same time, Byron residents will be grabbing for their doonahs with the town tipped to get a top temperature of only 23C.
