It's all systems go for Phil

DEFENDING NSW V8 Modified champion Phil McNamara says he has the car and the crew to retain his State title at Lismore Speedway tomorrow night.

That places the emphasis squarely on the driver’s shoulders and McNamara won’t leave any questions unanswered when he puts his championship trophy on the line.

“I don’t know if we can pull off another title, but I do know I will give it a red-hot go,” he said yesterday.

“We have had a few good runs at Lismore this season and my car is going like a dream, but the way the weather is, it will probably throw up a difficult track on the night.”

McNamara believes he has reason to be confident.

“With my dad and brother, I have the best pit crew in Australian V8 Dirt Modified racing,” he said.

McNamara knows only too well he faces a tough challenge for another State title against some of the best V8 Dirt Modified drivers in Australia.

“You can never write off Mark Robinson,” he said.

“The level has stepped up and any one of 18 drivers is capable of winning.”

One of McNamara’s major backers, CT Custom Tint, is a major sponsor of the 2010 NSW V8 Dirt Modified Championship.
